Bridge pins acoustic guitar you've never been!?
I can change the strings for the first time in two years on my Alvarez jumbo acoustic. I use pin puller to pull your right, but when I turn on the news channel and begin to strengthen, the pins come out with very little string tension. All of them are along the bridge, but stay inside as the hole is suddenly too big for the pin. What I can do? I stand up to heat or guitar in the bathroom while I shower to steam is to swell the wood. Is this a good idea? I played a bit of acoustics in recent years and have not had this problem before, even with a pileup very cheap, I learned several years ago. I think my cost of about $ 500 Alvarez, and certainly not play or sound like a cheap guitar. Thanks for your help.
That is quite normal especially for the sound of aging. I have a Seagull S6 +, which is about 10 years and still plays and sounds as good as when I bought it. It's a bit difficult, it is necessary to put some tension on the rope and hold the pin in place. Once you get enough tension on the rope, hold the pin firmly in place. Sometimes you get the pins that are clearly too small … I bought the bronze would not stay in all holes. I gave a friend who has a Taylor, and form. If all else fails, I recommend you take it to a luthier. Do not mess with the heat or in the shower … probably steam loosen the glue and you have plenty of firewood.
