Please help! I need help tuning my mandolin…?

I don’t really have a good enough ear to use a pitch pipe, because it just sounds too different from the strings. How can I use my guitar or banjo to tune it up?

OK, It’s tuned G, D, A, E low to high. Tune the low 2 strings to your guitar G string. Go up to the 7th fret (D) and tune the next strings to this. Then go up to the 7th fret on those strings (A) and tune the A strings to that. Now either tune the E strings to your guitar E, or go up to the 7th fret again.
PS- You might want to get a chromatic tuner – it makes tuning these high pitches easier. The best is the Boss TU12H (H for high frequency)
